independent projects 17-18
THE QUARRY LANE SCHOOL: ms engineering
Objectives:
As a culmination to this year’s engineering class, the final project will require the use of all previously learned skills and knowledge as well as incorporating newly acquired Arduino / electronics information
Constraints:
The final project must incorporate all the skills and talents learned throughout the year. Projects must fully engage with the Design Process. Students should plan, draw, model and fabricate their projects to achieve a specific task to solve a particular problem. Students may work alone or in groups. Project depth, scope and complexity will be correlated to the size of each group. Special consideration will be given to students that understand and utilize appropriate teamwork.
At minimum, students must use the one digital fabrication tool (laser cutter, 3D printer, CNC mill) that they did not use for their Mousetrap Cars. Students in groups with overlaps must still use the tools that they did not previously.
Projects must employ an Arduino along with some Input device to control some Output device.
